ANNOUNCEMENT
The Revd Donald Reeves, Director of the Soul of Europe and a former Rector of St James Piccadilly has been awarded the Tschelebi-Peace Award for fostering good relations between the Abrahamic faiths.
The Tschelebi-Peace Award is part of the Zentralinstitut Islam-Archiv, Soest, the oldest Islamic organisation in Germany; and on the jury of the Peace Award Muslims, Jews and Christians decide together. It is given each year to a German non-Muslim active person as well as to an NGO involved in active dialogue, and each second year - as in 2010 - three-fold: a national award, an international award and a group-award.
This year the National Award has been given to Konrad Raiser, former General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, and the Group Award to the House of Religions in Hanover.
Revd Donald Reeves is this years’ International Peace Award recipient.
